WGSN’s Global Fashion Awards come to London

Published
Aug 10, 2012

WGSN, the world’s leading fashion forecaster, will host its 2012 Global Fashion Awards on November 5th at The Savoy in London.

The awards, which are held annually, celebrate the best in design – from ready-to-wear and accessories to sport and swimwear – as well as retail and e-tail. With entrants from over 60 countries and from up-and-coming talent as well as established global brands, the event aims to reward talent and achievement from across the whole of the fashion industry. Emerging talent and fashion’s rising stars will be showcased in the ‘Emerging Designer’ and ‘Student Designer’ categories.

This year’s jury of global fashion experts – responsible for picking the winners – will include Topshop’s managing director, Mary Homer, designer and writer Daisy de Villeneuve, and Sarah Curran, the founder and CEO of online retailer, my-wardrobe.com.

Last year's winner of the Most Influential Womenswear Designer prize, Erdem

The 2011 Global Fashion Awards were held on 20th October at New York’s Gotham Hall, and saw Erdem walk away with the Most Influential Womenswear Designer category prize. Other winners included Net-A-Porter for Best E-tailer whilst Michael Cinco was crowned Breakthrough Designer.

ENTRY DEADLINE: Entries for the Global Fashion Awards can be made online at www.globalfashionawards.com before the closing date of Friday 17th August.
