President and Levi Strauss CEO Chip Bergh has found a replacement for CFO Blake Jorgensen, who left Yahoo to come on board in 2009 and resigned in August. Kevin Wilson, Levi Strauss vice president finance for the Americas commercial operations, had stepped in for the interim.

Effective January 16, Levi Strauss will be able to count on Harmit Singh. Singh was previously CFO for the international hotel group Hyatt Hotels Corporation, where he also served as CFO. “Harmit has extensive experience in developing and implementing growth strategies for companies that serve consumers around the globe,” said Chip Bergh in a statement. “His combination of financial and operational expertise, global experience and deep understanding of Asia will make him a strong addition to our leadership team at Levi Strauss & Co.”
Harmit Singh worked four years at Hyatt, prior to which he spent 14 years in management positions for the Yum! group, which owns brands such as Pizza Hut. Singh started his career in India at American Express and Price Waterhouse.
