Under Armour chief product officer Kevin Eskridge to exit

Published
Mar 26, 2020

Under Armour chief product officer Kevin Eskridge will exit the company in August.

According to multiple reports, Eskridge will be leaving the Baltimore, Maryland-based company to pursue other interests. He has served as CPO since May of 2017.

Eskridge first joined Under Armour in 2009, serving as senior director of the company's outdoor group, and later as managing director, vice president of Under Armour China, senior vice president of global merchandising and planning, and president of sport performance.

Prior to joining the athletic company, Eskridge served as Vice President of merchandising for Armani Exchange and as a director at Banana Republic, among other roles.

FashionNetwork.com has reached out to Under Armour regarding any possible replacement for Eskridge, but has yet to receive a response.

In February, Under Armour announced a fourth-quarter loss of $15.3 million and revealed disappointing prospects for 2020.

The net loss of $0.03 per diluted share reported by the company for the fourth quarter ended December 31, 2019, represented a decline from net income of $4.2 million. The company’s earnings were impacted by a $23 million tax expense related to some of the company’s deferred assets, as well as a $39 million impairment charge related to its equity interest investment in its Japan licensee.

Adding to these issues, Under Armour announced on March 16 that it would be temporarily shuttering its North American stores until at least March 28 in response to the Covid-19 pandemic.

Since the announcement, the company has worked to help those impacted by the outbreak by donating $1 million to Feeding America, a nonprofit dedicated to feeding families in need across the United States.

The company will also donate up to $1 million in a combination of monetary donation and product to Good Sports, a charity that provides youth in need with athletic equipment, apparel and footwear.
