Tyra Banks launches ModelLand

American model and 90s icon, Tyra Banks, is launching a new business venture that merges fashion, beauty, photoshoots, runways, shopping, theatre and the general public. 

Dubbed 'ModelLand', the multi-level attraction -- first announced in 2019 -- has come to life at Santa Monica Place in California. Covering a 21,000-square-foot space, attendees can live out their modeling fantasy inside the attraction, which poses as one giant photo opportunity.

"When you step into ModelLand, you enter a fantastical world where we celebrate your uniqueness, while we help you master your angles and up your photo game. You are ModelLand's star,” explained Banks, in a news statement. 

"I believe all shapes and all sizes and all ages and all shades deserve to feel beautiful, powerful, and be the fantasy versions of themselves. ModelLand is not just an attraction. It's a place full of story that challenges what 'attractive' means.”

With general access tickets, which costs $59, visitors will play model and receive their own personalized digital lookbook, customized with photos of them taken by ModelLand's professional cameras. 

Photos are taken in customized lighting, some of which changes to complement each guest's individual skin tone and features, while every camera angle, and every lighting set-up has been produced by Banks and her preeminent photography team. 

From there, visitors can choose more pricey options including 'Fantascene Photoshoot' and 'Fantascene Dream', which takes things one step further with makeup, hairstyling, wardrobe and more. 

The attraction is designed to change on an on-going basis with new shows and themes for guests to come back again and again.
