Topshop recruits design director from Asos

The British retail store has recruited former design director of Asos, Jacqui Markham, to fill the newly created position of global design director.

Jacqui Markham replaces Emma Farrow, who held the role of design manager and who left for womenswear brand Finery London.

Markham will work alongside creative director Kate Phelan. She isn't, however, a stranger to Topshop since she already worked for the retailer for 14 years before leaving to join Asos in March 2013.

Topshop currently has over 319 stores in the UK and more than 137 franchises in 40 countries. Its e-commerce site receives an average of 4.5 million visits per week, with more than 400 new products that can be delivered to 110 countries every week.
