Sunglass Hut new principal sponsor of London Fashion Week

Published
Mar 18, 2015

Sunglass Hut will be the new principal sponsor of London Fashion Week. The agreement, announced this Wednesday in a press release from the British Fashion Council (BFC), covers three years and will be in effect as of September 2015. It concerns the women's fashion weeks, which take place twice a year, in February and September.

Sunglass Hut, the American eyewear retail chain acquired by Italian eyewear group Luxottica in 2001, has 3,000 stores around the world. The partnership with the British Fashion Council plans on exploiting this vast network as well as the chain's social networks to allow London Fashion Week to expand its audience and "reach a target audience of fashion buyers on a global scale," says the press release.

The label will also play the role of mentor for young British designers, sharing its experience in the areas of distribution and marketing, the release also indicates, without however revealing any additional information on the agreement or the financial side of the sponsorship.

"The agreement will be revealed in detail in the next months," said a representative of the Luxottica group.
