Stitch Fix temporarily closes two distribution centers

Published
Mar 23, 2020

Online personal styling company Stitch Fix Inc. is temporarily closing two of its distribution centers in response to public health orders in San Mateo County, California and the state of Pennsylvania.

The two distribution centers that will close include one location in South San Francisco, California and one in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania.

In a press release, the company said that the San Francisco distribution center is anticipated to be closed until April 7. The Bethlehem center will remain closed until further notice, in accordance with an order from Pennsylvania Governor, Tom Wolf, that all non-life-sustaining businesses in the state close their physical locations as of March 19, to slow the spread of Covid-19.

Stitch Fix has four other distribution centers operating in the U.S. and currently plans to manage inventory and to serve clients from those facilities, the company said.

The announcement comes as retailers and brands throughout the U.S., including Ralph Lauren, Macy's, Skechers, J.Jill, J.C. Penney and more, choose to temporarily close their stores to curb the virus's spread.
