Saks Fifth Avenue opens health and wellness concept 'The Wellery'

Saks Fifth Avenue on Thursday announced the opening of The Wellery, a wellness concept shop, at its Fifth Avenue flagship store in New York City. The shop will remain at Saks through October 2017.

 
The Wellery is the first of its kind for Saks. The 16,000-square-foot temporary concept shop on the second floor of Saks flagship store is comprised of 22 individual spaces offering women’s and men’s athleisure and activewear apparel, fitness classes and equipment, skincare products and treatments.
 
The shop hosts pop up events and classes such as reiki healing, mediation and massages at the Saks Studio space, with gym and fitness programs such as ConBody, a prison-style boot camp using only one's body weight, Bendable Body, a specialized stretching method that works on connective tissue, meditation specialist MNDFL, and modelFIT. 

Skinney MedSpa will also be available at The Wellery, offering non-invasive body contouring and hi-tech facials, and Breathe Salt Rooms will be open for dry salt therapy.
 
"Saks has a long history of creating breakthrough, experiential environments in our stores—in 1935, an indoor ski slope was constructed in the flagship store in order to offer skiing lessons. The Saks Wellery, our latest concept shop, focused entirely on wellness, continues the Saks tradition of elevating shopping to a higher level by building exciting customer experiences," said Saks Fifth Avenue Chief Merchant Tracy Margolies. "We want the Saks Wellery to be a sanctuary for our customers—a place to find peace and solace in the middle of our bustling city."
 
Saks’ new wellness concept follows the opening of its jewelry boutique, The Vault, in Connecticut. The Vault joined shoe boutique, 10022-SHOE, and contemporary fashion store, The Collective, at 200 Greenwich Avenue this month, completing Saks’ triad of dedicated freestanding boutiques.
