River Island links with DCK for jewellery launch

Published

Fashion retailer River Island has launched a women’s jewellery range in a deal with independent fashion jewellery business DCK Group.

The extensive collection (it contains 380 pieces) has launched online and in the chain’s 254 stores.

It includes a variety of “everyday essentials”, including hoop earrings and layering necklaces, in addition to a trend-led collection of seasonal pieces. Core to the range is “delivering accessible fashion at an affordable price”.

Jewellery may not have been a big focus for consumers over the past year as socialising was put on hold, but DCK’s CEO Lorraine Bottomley said the company is seeing increasing demand for bespoke jewellery ranges from both UK and international retailers.

Meanwhile Lucy Nutter, Buying Director at River Island, added that DCK “has unrivalled capabilities and customer understanding within the category”.

The trend-led pieces in the current offer focus on three themes: Glitz is all about sparkle and “affordable luxe looks"; Beloved “encompasses feminine designs and semi-precious stones”; and Dolce Vita “offers statement glamour, featuring heart and cross motifs to be styled into a layered look”.

It’s clearly a good moment to launch as UK shoppers flood back to physical stores and start to socialise again. Importantly, it debuts in time for the holiday season too, with bookings for holiday both in the UK and abroad surging at present.
