New spring Tessuti flagship to add to Liverpool One's appeal

Published

A new global flagship store is coming to Liverpool One next spring. It will belong to higher-end fashion retailer Tessuti and it won’t mark the brand’s Liverpool debut. The curated designer retailer, owned by JD Sports Fashion, is set to quadruple in size there, giving the mall "a significant vote of confidence”, said owner/operator Grosvenor.

The brand will relocate from its 5,300 sq ft on Peter’s Land, its home since 2013, to a new Paradise Street store, opposite parent JD Sports’ flagship unit. The store will showcase curated ranges from established premium and luxury fashion brands and up-and-coming designers.

It joins other retailers upsizing at the in-demand mall that has included a new 20,000 sq ft flagship for New Look and a bigger retail space for fashion footwear brand Dr Martens. It also highlights the fast recovery from the pandemic of the premium and luxury sectors.

Alison Clegg, Managing Director, Asset Management, Grosvenor Britain & Ireland, said: “The creation of an upsized flagship for Tessuti has been a shared objective for some time, given the brand’s consistently strong performance at Liverpool One.  Their growth is an excellent endorsement for the destination and signifies the ongoing demand for physical retail, as well as the growth of our premium and luxury-focused offering.”

Grosvenor also said Liverpool One has continued to experience strong trading since retail re-opened on April 12. Retail sales were up 14.4% in Q3 compared to the same period in 2019, "significantly" ahead of the UK average of 6.7%.
