Mykita: Franz Koch (ex-Puma) joins board

Published
Jun 12, 2015

Mykita is welcoming Franz Koch to its management. The former CEO of Puma will oversee BtoB sales, finance, production and human resources.

Franz Koch and Moritz Krueger

His arrival will allow founder and designer Moritz Krueger to focus on design, the brand and BtoC sales. Franz Koch is also becoming a shareholder in the Berlin eyewear brand. The third largest shareholder is Bernd Beetz, the former CEO of Coty.

Franz Koch joined Puma in 2007 to assist in the implementation of overall strategy, following the acquisition of the German sports brand by Kering. Koch took the reins of Puma in July 2011, at only 33 years old, with the perilous task of succeeding the iconic executive Jochen Zeitz. He only stayed in that position for two years, succeeded by Björn Guden.

Mykita is the flagship label of Berlin eyewear company. The brand, which has quickly gained an international aura, generates a turnover of about 28 million euros.
