Marchesa to present first ever bridal fashion show in Europe at Barcelona Bridal Fashion Week

Marchesa will present its Spring 2020 bridal collection and a selection of party dresses at the Barcelona Bridal Fashion Week (BBFW) in 2019, taking place on 23-28 April at the Montjuïc exhibition centre in Barcelona.

It will be the brand’s first ever bridal fashion show in Europe, the trade fair institution announced in a statement on Tuesday.

Founded by designers Georgina Chapman and Keren Craig in 2004, the brand is based in New York and is popularly worn on the red carpet by celebrities including Viola Davis, Sofia Vergara, Blake Lively, Priyanka Chopra, Gwen Stefani, Rita Ora, Katy Perry, Scarlett Johansson and Cindy Crawford.

The designers will present their Marchesa Bridal Couture Spring 2020 collection and a selection of party dresses from their ready-to-wear line in a fashion show that will be held during the Barcelona Bridal Night on 24 April.
Chapman and Craig said they are “very excited” to showcase their Bridal Spring 2020 collection at the Spanish event.

Estermaria Laruccia, director of BBFW said that Marchesa’s arrival will take the event one step further in its commitment to fashion, design and creativity, putting Barcelona at the centre of the global stage.

Marchesa will join returning BBFW brands such as Reem Acra, Ángel Sánchez, Naeem Khan, Galia Lahav and Houghton.
