Mapic Awards: Primark, Aeropostale, Gutteridge and Charming Charlie among nominees

The commercial real estate event held in Cannes recently revealed the nominations for the ten Mapic Awards 2015, selected among a record longlist of 110 names. The prizes will be awarded on 19th November.

The nominees for the 'Best fashion and footwear concept' this year are Aeropostale, Charming Charlie, Gutteridge and Primark. Hamleys, Tanya Heath and #UndizMachine will contest the 'Best new concept in commercial design' award. For the 'Best international retail expansion' award the competition will be among 100 Montaditos, Desigual, JD Sports and Vapiano.

In terms of real estate, the award for the 'Best new shopping mall' could go to one among Aviapark (Moscow), CapitaMall Tianfu (China), Mall of Istanbul (Turkey), Milaneo (Stuttgart) or Tongde Kunming Plaza (China). The award for the 'Best shopping mall redevelopment' will be a matter among Alegro Setubal (Lisbon), Children Dreamhouse Mall (Russia), Guildford Town Centre (Canada) and Mall of Emirates (Dubai).

As for factory outlets, the award for 'Best brand village' will be contested by Marques Avenue A13 (Aubergenville, France), McArthurGlen Designer Outlet Vancouver, Outlet Collection at Niagara (Canada) and Vinukovo Outlet Village (Moscow). Finally, the nominees for the 'Best urban commercial design' award are Eataly Smeraldo (Milan), Markthal (Rotterdam), Promenade Sainte-Catherine (Bordeaux) and The Beach (Dubai).
