LVMH has found Andrea Guerra's successor. The Italian executive, who has headed the hotel division since 2020, will leave the luxury group at the end of the month. Stéphane Rinderknech has been chosen to replace him. Rinderknech, who has extensive international experience at global beauty giant L'Oréal, will take over as of June 6.

Rinderknech joined L'Oréal almost 20 years ago. He began working in travel retail at L'Oréal Miami in 2001, as Lancôme’s regional director for South America. In 2005, he moved to Japan, where he oversaw Biotherm followed by Lancôme as deputy general manager.

After heading L'Oréal Luxe in South Korea between 2008 and 2011, the Institut supérieur de gestion de Paris graduate moved to China, where he successively headed the Luxe division followed by the Consumer Public division, before being appointed CEO of the subsidiary in 2016 and joining the group's executive committee two years later. In September 2019, he was appointed CEO of L'Oréal USA, the largest subsidiary of the French giant. His successor, David Greenberg, was announced last February.

"Throughout his career, Stéphane has demonstrated an exceptional ability to achieve outstanding performance, develop organizations and bring out talent. His desire to learn and evolve constantly, his agility and his passion for new challenges are indisputable assets to lead our exceptional places and destinations to a new stage in their development," stated LVMH group CEO, Bernard Arnault, in an internal memo.

The new CEO of LVMH Hospitality Excellence, which includes Cheval Blanc Hotels and Belmond Hotels and Trains and more than 50 establishments including the Cipriani in Venice, the Copacabana Palace in Rio de Janeiro, the Mount Nelson in Cape Town and the iconic Orient Express train, will be a member of the group's executive committee.
