London Textile Fair sees record visitor numbers

Published

The London Textile Fair has reported a record number of visitors, with a total of 4,523 members of the trade attending the latest show in January.

The London Textile Fair

The textile trade show organised by Textile Events said nearly 500 exhibitors presented their Spring/Summer 2021 pre-collections and Autumn/Winter highlights at the Business Design Centre in Islington over the course of two days.

Exhibitors were predominantly European, with Turkey having the largest representation (30%), followed closely by Italy (28%), the UK (11%), France (8%), Portugal (8%) and Spain (4%).

And while the show provides a platform to showcase a variety of fashion supplies, fabrics continue to dominate with 69% of exhibitors falling into this category. Accessories, trims and vintage garments were also popular.

Another standout feature was the growing assortment of sustainable fabrics. This season, more than 50 European manufacturers presented eco-friendly products, including natural fibres (linen, hemp, wool), better cotton, recycled fabrics (polyester, wool, leather) and sustainable dyeing & finishing.

The London Textile Fair will be back for another season on 14-15 July.
