Latest Gym+Coffee launch focuses on sustainability

Fast-growing Irish athleisure brand Gym+Coffee has upped its eco credentials with the launch of a limited-edition collection using sustainably sourced materials.

Gym+Coffee

The Kinetic Capsule, made up of three hero items, offers “high-performance fabric suitable for the toughest of physical challenges”, and is the latest development in a trend that sees a raft of activewear producers diving deeper into more sustainable fabrics.

The collection is produced using the Better Cotton Initiative (BCI), the largest global cotton sustainability programme. The cotton is combined with recycled polyamide which is certified to the Global Recycling Standards.
The company also kept the manufacturing as close to home as it could, using Valérius in Portugal. The supplier has been focusing on textile waste recycling, electricity generation from renewable energy sources and chemical-free processes across its operations.

The capsule is priced from £90 to £95 for a men’s and women’s hoodie, as well as a women’s half zip, all of which come in a deep navy colourway. The pieces join the Amárach range in the label’s sustainable product offering.

The company has a goal for the end of this year to have a minimum of 30% of its entire range be sustainably made or made from recycled materials.
