The French company is renewing its presence in Madrid by opening new headquarters in the Spanish capital, specifically at number 546 of the centrally located Calle Alcalá, opposite the Quinta de Torre Arias park and next to its metro station. The opening of these new offices marks the arrival in Spain of the company's new work model, already successfully implemented in other countries such as Portugal, Holland, Germany and France.

L'Oréal

The company has chosen a "hybrid work model in which employees do not have a fixed location", but can roam throughout the day and settle in spaces that best meet their needs. The new offices are entirely digital and include open-plan collaboration spaces, cafés with workspaces, 'silent rooms' or 'bubble' spaces of all different sizes.

The headquarters also has 76 rooms, equipped with interactive screens and digital whiteboards as well as tools such as Wifi-6 technology in addition to a common space called Agora, which has a screen of more than 100 inches and a special audio and microphone system, a digital system connected to the canteen, so food can be ordered directly, and a space technically equipped for audiovisual productions.

The offices also have services or areas devoted to employee wellness, including large terraces that can be used for meetings or events. In addition, the head office has medical, physiotherapy and health coach services, as well as a new gym, a breastfeeding room, and even a beauty center with hairdressing services for employees and a boutique offering a range of products to employees and visitors.

"I am especially proud of this project as it represents our culture and many of the values present in our corporate purpose 'Create the beauty that moves the world'," said Juan Alonso de Lomas, CEO of L'Oréal Spain and Portugal since the beginning of last year, in a statement released on Monday, January 9.

According to the executive, one of the company's priorities is to "transform the world through beauty", which is why it is key to offer workers "a modern, inspiring office that fosters collaboration between teams and the best work experience."

Lola Ortuño, L'Oréal Spain and Portugal's human relations director, said that the building is "a living representation" of the company's ambition to "generate a unique work model that offers the opportunity for teams to have a positive and conscious impact".

L'Oréal

With more than a 100-year track record in the beauty industry, the L'Oréal group has a diverse portfolio of more than 35 international and complementary brands and employs 85,400 people worldwide. Today, the company operates through all distribution channels: mass market, pharmacies and drugstores, hairdressing salons, perfumeries, travel retail, own retail and e-commerce.

In the 2021 financial year, the French company recorded a turnover of 32.29 billion euros. The group's research and development investments accounted for 3.3% of this turnover (around €1 billion). L'Oréal currently has a team of 4,000 researchers in 21 research centres and 14 evaluation centres.
