L Catterton's Growth Fund invests in menswear brand Mizzen + Main

L Catterton continues its brand investments with a significant investment in American-made menswear label Mizzen + Main, the fourth brand in two weeks.

The private equity firm formed in partnership between Catterton, LVMH and Groupe Arnault recently invested in skincare brand Tula, men’s activewear label Rhone Apparel and on Tuesday swimwear brand Maaji. Mizzen + Main joins a number of brands that have received investments from the firm, including Sandro & Maje, Sweaty Betty and Hanna Andersson in the past.
 
Founded by Kevin Lavelle in 2012, Mizzen + Main is a digitally native designer, wholesaler and retailer of American-made, performance-focused apparel. The brand is well known for its products constructed with wrinkle-free, machine washable materials that possess stretch and moisture wicking capabilities. It's also known for athlete-fronted campaigns featuring Chicago Cubs pitcher Jake Arrieta, Houston Texans defensive end J.J. Watt and professional tennis player John Isner.

The investment from L Catterton’s Growth Fund will be used to expand the Dallas-based menswear brand’s product offering and omni-channel presence.

Mizzen + Main is available online and in close to 300 retail locations global, including Saks Fifth Avenue and Nordstrom.
