Komar announced today that it has acquired the California-based sleepwear company. Komar’s portfolio includes more than 100 brands covering intimates, sleepwear and children’s apparel.

In a statement, BedHead’s founder and owner Renee Claire says the brand is excited about joining the company. “Komar has the vision to help us to continue to build the BedHead brand while remaining true to the identity that we've worked so hard to build,” she said.
Claire founded the brand in the 1990s and produced the line in Los Angeles. The pajamas line is now sold in boutiques as well as department stores such as Neiman Marcus and Nordstrom. Following the acquisition, Claire will continue to design the line and production for BedHead will remain in the United States. Komar will also maintain BedHead’s retail location in West Hollywood.
Komar’s president and CEO Charlie Komar says the company will honor Claire’s vision for the brand. “Renee has built a highly successful, sought-after sleepwear brand with a unique point of view. Komar is committed to continuing to foster and grow this terrific brand that she created. We are so pleased to welcome BedHead to our company.”
Komar was founded in 1908 and is headquartered in New Jersey. Its portfolio includes sleepwear and intimates lines from the likes of Kate Spade, Betsey Johnson and Lucky Brand.
