Daniela Riccardi has stepped down from Kering’s board of directors. The Italian top executive tendered her resignation from her position as director of the French luxury group at the board meeting that was held after the group's AGM, on April 27. Her mandate had been renewed last year, and was due to end in 2026.

The announcement was made via a press release, which did not state the reasons for her departure. "The Appointments and Governance committee will evaluate how to replace [Riccardi], and initiate the succession process in the coming weeks,” simply stated Kering, explaining that, as it stands, “the composition of the various committees remains unchanged, and will be revised following a future appointment." Riccardi is therefore expected to still sit on Kering’s Sustainable Development committee, of which she is also a member.

Riccardi is fluent in French, English, Spanish and Italian, and joined the luxury giant’s board in 2014, contributing her solid managerial experience. François-Henri Pinault and the board of directors thanked her “warmly” for her “involvement and contribution to the board’s work.”

Riccardi graduated in political science and international relations at the University of Rome La Sapienza, and worked for 25 years for US consumer goods multinational Procter & Gamble, where she held various international management positions. After a 10-year tenure in various Latin American markets, she became vice-president of Eastern Europe, based in Moscow, and later was named president of Procter & Gamble Greater China, based in Guangzhou.

In 2010, she switched to fashion, taking charge of Diesel, and becoming the first external manager to run the jeans label, succeeding founder Renzo Rosso. Three years later, she left Diesel to take the helm of crystalware producer Baccarat for seven years. In 2020, Riccardi joined Moleskine as managing director.
