Kaia Gerber stars in new Alexander McQueen 'Slash bag' campaign

British fashion brand Alexander McQueen has introduced 'Slash bag' in a new campaign starring Kaia Gerber. 

New for the spring/summer 2023 women’s pre-collection, the Slash bag carries many of the signatures the house is known for including the iconic McQueen Knuckle hardware and skull motif. Available in two sizes, it features a sharply cut, slashed body inspired by the house’s signature sliced and slashed tailoring. 

The Slash bag is handcrafted from soft leather and can be worn over the shoulder via a faceted chain metal shoulder strap. The new bag is available in black, red, and ivory. 

It launches with a film directed by Glen Luchford that explores human emotion within a futuristic landscape. In the film, model Kaia Gerber is seen wandering an eerily dystopian cityscape highlighting the bag’s quality and refinement. 

Other new items for spring/summer 2023 women’s pre-collection, includes the Jewelled Hobo bag, crafted from smooth calfskin leather, and adorned with glittering, Swarovski-encrusted rings. 

McQueen launched his eponymous label in 1992. Today, the house is run under the creative direction of Sarah Burton and since May, it has been led by new CEO Gianfilippo Testa. It is currently building a new flagship store in Paris, which should be established next year.
