KKR hires Shiseido executive for Japan unit

NEW YORK, Sept 8 (Reuters) - Buyout firm Kohlberg Kravis Roberts & Co [KKR.UL] said on Monday, September 8th it was boosting its team in Japan by hiring the honorary chairman of Japanese cosmetics firm Shiseido Co Ltd as a senior adviser.

The buyout firm established a physical presence in Japan in 2005 when it announced it would open offices in Tokyo and Hong Kong in order to invest across the Asia Pacific region.

Yoshiharu Fukuhara, who has been honorary chairman of Shiseido since 2001, is the grandson of Shiseido founder Arinobu Fukuhara. He joined Shiseido in 1953. (Reporting by Megan Davies; editing by John Wallace)
