Johanna Ortiz and Aerin Beauty launch lipstick collaboration

Fashion designer Johanna Ortiz has become the latest creative to get the lipstick bug. The Colombian designer has teamed up with the lifestyle brand Aerin on a new capsule collection of three lipsticks, as reported by Vogue.

The lipsticks, which have now launched exclusively on the e-commerce site Net-a-Porter, come in the vibrant shades of ‘Tayrona Nude Beach,' a rich, pretty nude hue, as well as the spicy red ‘Cali Aji' and the juicy orange ‘Cartagena Sunsets'. Each comes in gold bullet casing, with packaging inspired by Ortiz's signature floral fashion fabric designs.

"The brands are very similar, they are feminine, romantic, and pretty," Aerin founder Aerin Lauder told Vogue.com.

Ortiz is the latest of several fashion designers to step into the beauty game -- last year famously saw the prestigious French house of Balmain team up with L'Oréal Paris on a lipstick collection, while Tom Ford regularly attracts attention with new additions to his ‘Boys And Girls' collection -- which features hues inspired by celebrities and friends of the designer. Sportswear giant Puma also got in on the act this year via a collaboration with MAC Cosmetics.
