Jimmy Choo veteran Hannah Colman is new CEO

Capri Holdings has named a new CEO for its Jimmy Choo unit. Hannah Colman, who has been acting as interim CEO, takes over permanently at the helm of the luxury footwear and accessories label and will report directly to Capri’s CEO and chairman John D. Idol.

Her promotion comes several months after her predecessor Pierre Denis quit the firm to lead Coty, a role he didn’t take up in the end, although he's a senior adviser to its board, according to his LinkedIn profile.

The company said Colman “has an unrivalled knowledge and understanding of the Jimmy Choo brand as one of company’s earliest employees, joining 24 years ago as store manager in the first boutique on Motcomb Street, London”. From there she held a number of roles, including most recently president EMEA and global e-commerce.

Idol said she’s “been instrumental in Jimmy Choo’s growth with her instinctive vision for the brand. She has done an outstanding job leading the business during a highly challenging and unprecedented time. I have every faith that she will continue to lead Jimmy Choo to even greater heights. Our company has an excellent team in place and I am confident that under Hannah’s leadership the brand will continue to go from strength to strength.”

Founder and creative director Sandra Choi also said that she’s worked with Colman since the brand’s early days and “couldn’t be happier that she will now lead our company as we continue to grow Jimmy Choo as one of the most important British luxury brands in the world”.

Colman herself added that she takes “the responsibility of writing the next chapter of this remarkable luxury house incredibly seriously and couldn’t be more excited by the opportunity.”

The news came as the brand also launched its luxe Timberland collaboration that had been flagged earlier this year. The collab features both women’s and men’s styles with Timberland boots being given a glam Choo-style makeover and embellished with Swarovski crystals.

It debuts exclusively in the US at Kith in New York and LA on Wednesday and will be available via both Jimmy Choo’s and Timberland’s webstores and in selected Jimmy Choo physical stores from September 9.
