Izod expands licensing agreement with Centric Brands into menswear

Published
Oct 19, 2021

American clothing label Izod, which was acquired by Authentic Brands Group (ABG) from PVH Corp earlier this year, has extended its licensing agreement with Centric Brands to cover new product categories under the menswear umbrella.

New York-based Centric Brands, which previously dealt with Izod’s kids and accessories products, as well as its wholesale operations, will now also handle the design of its men’s sportswear, activewear and golf apparel. In addition, the company will take over the operation of the brand’s e-commerce website.

The Izod apparel division will become part of Centric’s men’s and women’s platform, which is led by men’s and women’s sportswear group president Suzy Biszantz. Centric is also bringing in Geoff Barrett, who has previously worked with Izod, to lead the brand’s men’s business.

“We are pleased to continue our strong partnership with Authentic Brands Group,” commented Centric Brands CEO Jason Rabin in a release. “The addition of the Izod men’s collection complements our existing Izod business allowing us to offer customers a well-rounded offering of lifestyle product across several categories that will drive customer acquisition and loyalty for the brand.”

Centric designs, sources, markets and sells products under license in the apparel, accessories, beauty and entertainment categories for more than 100 brands. The company’s license portfolio includes Calvin Klein, Tommy Hilfiger, Under Armour, Michael Kors and Timberland.

Izod was acquired by ABG when PVH sold its heritage brands division, which also included the Arrow and Van Heusen businesses, to the NYC-based brand management company for $220 million in June of this year.

The label’s products are currently available on its own e-commerce platform as well as in a selection of department stores.
