Italian group Marcolin strikes distribution deal for Barton Perreira eyewear

Italian eyewear group Marcolin has signed a multi-year agreement for the distribution of the Barton Perreira eyeglasses and sunglasses collections. The Los Angeles-based brand was founded in 2007 by CEO Bill Barton and designer Patty Perreira.

The agreement is effective from February 1, and licenses Marcolin to distribute Barton Perreira’s men’s and women’s collections in southern Europe (Spain, Portugal, Greece and Italy), the Middle East, eastern Europe (including Russia), all Asia-Pacific countries except Japan, in South-East Asia, South America and Mexico. Barton Perreira will continue to design and manufacture the collections, and will take care of distribution in the rest of Europe, the USA, Canada and Japan.

"This new brand enables us to further enhance the value of our portfolio, and it opens up new opportunities for Marcolin Group to diversify its commercial business model.”

Barton Perreira is renowned for the combination of cutting-edge technology and artisanal technique at the heart of its eyewear collections: each frame is hand-crafted in Japan using premium-quality materials. The label operates stores in New York, Nashville, Aspen and Kansas City, and is also available at select opticians and department stores.
 
Barton Perreira adds to Marcolin’s licence portfolio, which already includes several leading international luxury names like Tom Ford, Moncler, Ermenegildo Zegna and Roberto Cavalli. In 2017, the Italian eyewear group recorded a revenue of over €469 million, and in 2018 it sold approximately 14.6 million pairs of glasses.
