Isabel Marant opens new flagship on Madison Avenue

Isabel Marant has unveiled a new American flagship store on Madison Avenue, in New York.

The 2960 square-foot space takes over two entire floors and was designed by Marant’s studio in close collaboration with a group of local talented young designers and artisans. 

Located at 677 Madison Avenue, Isabel Marant’s largest store to date houses women’s, men’s, Étoile and accessories collections, displayed in a setting that brings together seventies references, a house signature, and the industrial vibe, typical to Manhattan. 

Inspired by the concept of “cabinet de curiosités”, a common thread for all Isabel Marant stores, the furniture includes an eclectic mix of statement pieces. In particular, artist Arnold Goron, a longstanding house collaborator, designed the space’s centerpiece, a bright pink table showcasing this season’s key accessories, as well as a colored metal sculpture located at the foot of the stairs. 

Other design features include a fluffy Berber sofa, porcelain display units, hand-carved wooden shelves and imposing floor-to-ceiling mirrors. Finally, while the store is mostly pared-back and minimalist, we find touches of color including green, pink and yellow accents including the shoe section featuring a vibrant yellow shelving unit. The concrete floor is equally dotted with natural stones and terracotta tiles.

Likewise, the outside of the store is sleek and elegant with a facade decorated with engraved concrete panels and featuring two large display windows. The New York flagship marks the designer’s 66th store globally. The first Isabel Marant boutique opened in Paris in 1998.
