Hillier & Bartley announce launch of new luxury label

As the news reached the fashion world that Marc by Marc Jacobs would merge with the main Marc Jacobs line, many wondered what the next step would be for its British designers: creative director Katie Hillier and womenswear designer Luella Bartley.

On Tuesday, the designers revealed that they will continue to work together on new luxury brand Hillier Bartley. The label will debut for fall/winter 2015 and contain women's ready-to-wear, accessories and bags.

Focus will be on classic English references and a masculine elegance, and Hillier Bartley will be manufactured in the UK.

Luella Bartley said, "Hillier Bartley is a very personal project which Katie and I have been working on for years. It is a culmination of everything I have learnt as a designer and a woman and is purely and defiantly about the clothes and fabrics. We have also looked at the women we admire, what we would want to wear and the inspirations that have been close to us for ages." 

Katie Hillier added, "Luella and I have always worked together in different ways. Now we are finally putting all our experience into making something that's a reflection of us, of what we want to wear."
