Happy Socks releases Queen collection

Quirky Swedish sock brand Happy Socks has joined forces with Queen for a limited-edition collection referencing the legendary British rock band’s greatest hits.
 

The collection includes six pairs of combed cotton crew socks for adults and four pairs for kids, which are all available as singles or as part of gift boxes. Single crew socks range in price from $8 to $16, while gift boxes retail for between $32 and $96.
 
One gift box features four adult styles, each of which pays tribute to one member of the rock quartet, as well as one of their greatest hits. One pair, for example, features lyrics from “Bohemian Rhapsody” and references Queen frontman Freddie Mercury through microphone, keyboard and musical note details.

Lead guitarist Brian May is represented by a black pair decorated with guitars and the phrase “We Will Rock You,” while John Deacon’s bass guitar features on a blue and black striped pair that also references “Another One Bites the Dust.” A final red pair is dedicated simultaneously to drummer Roger Taylor and the hit “Radio GaGa.”
 
A six-pack gift box offering all of the collection’s adult styles adds two more pairs, one featuring portraits of the band members, the other a pattern made up of all of their instruments. The word Queen has been stitched on to the cuff of both of these styles.

The full kid’s selection can also be purchased as a four-pack gift box.
 
This isn’t the first time that Happy Socks has teamed up with musical legends for a creative partnership. The Stockholm-based brand has previously released collections with The Rolling Stones and The Beatles and recently joined forces with Johnny Ramone’s widow Linda for a Valentine’s Day collaboration that paid tribute to their rock ‘n’ roll love story.
