Gore-Tex signs Pep Guardiola as brand ambassador

The Spanish coach Pep Guardiola will represent the label globally for four years, has announced the outdoor clothing brand that produces jackets and shoes.

“W.L. Gore & Associates and Pep Guardiola announced today a four-year partnership where Guardiola will globally represent the Gore-Tex® brand and Gore branded apparel and footwear. The trainer of football club FC Bayern München, Guardiola, is a long-time fan of the functional outdoor ingredient brand”, said the company in a press release.

“As an athlete and coach, perfectionism and vision play a crucial role and the same characteristics apply to Gore-Tex® products. Therefore I’m happy to represent this outstanding brand,” says Guardiola at the European headquarters of Gore near Munich, Germany.

The textile manufacturer also said the Spanish trainer will be equipped over the next four years with the brand’s jackets, shoes and gloves, and his imaged will be used in online and print campaigns promoting Gore-Tex products.

In an interview with Guardiola, the trainer highlighted Gore’s responsible practices. “I had a chance to read through their latest ‘Responsibility Update 2015’ in which they describe their activities. I must say that it is really impressive how much effort the company puts behind programs to reduce the environmental footprint”, he said.
