Gabriela Hearst and Mytheresa launch an exclusive fashion collection

Gabriela Hearst has been selected by the luxury retail platform Mytheresa to create an exclusive womenswear collection with a charitable twist.

The Uruguayan designer has been named as the 15th ‘Mytheresa woman,' as first reported by WWD, and has crafted an 18-piece series for the retailer, spanning luxurious separates in a color palette of red, white and black.

Hearst is a board member for the charity Save the Children, and as such, 20% of the sales proceeds from the new collection will be directed towards the non-profit's current campaign, celebrating its 100-year anniversary.

"I wanted to make sure we were producing a collection that was meaningful, inspiring and beautiful at the same time," Hearst told WWD in an interview. "The colors of the collection came from the iconic logo of Save the Children."

In a video clip posted to the Mytheresa Instagram account, the designer introduces the collection with the statement, "The Gabriela Hearst woman is a woman of action."

Mytheresa x Gabriela Hearst launches Wednesday, alongside a campaign and shoppable editorial featuring the star designer. The move comes at a busy time for Hearst, who is fresh from pulling off New York Fashion Week's first-ever carbon neutral ready-to-wear show earlier this month.
