Frasers-owned Studio Retail creates new jobs

Published
Feb 8, 2023

Studio Retail is to create 30 jobs in its first major expansion drive since being rescued by Frasers Group a year ago.

Studio Retail

The fashion and general merchandise e-tailer is adding the new roles at its Hyndburn, Lancashire, administrative and operational functions base after a period of “significant growth and transformation”.

The move follows Studio Retail's CEO Paul Kendrick stepping down just days ago to be replaced by the promoted David Twigg, who has moved up from Financial Services Director to became Managing Director.

Twigg told BusinessLive: “We are continuing to invest in our future in Hyndburn and the addition of 30 new colleagues shows we are in a period of significant growth and transformation. There are already over 650 colleagues working just in that building, and we can further develop this as we grow. It's great news for our workforce.

“We also have lots of other opportunities right across Studio Retail and I encourage people to take a look on our website”.

Head of talent Kate Morgan added: "This is great news for the local area - as one of the borough's largest employers, we will always require great staff and have lots of vacancies including the 30 new ones announced.

The company was bought out of administration by Frasers Group for just £1, although it was later revealed it owed more than £80 million when it collapsed.

A year on and the move to add to its workforce can be seen as positive, backed by news of major growth from its new MD. How that translates into its financial performance we shall have to wait and see when we get a trading update from Frasers Group.
