Five Four and Poggy launch collaboration collection for spring

Published
Feb 2, 2017

Five Four continues its designer partnerships with the launch of its collaboration collection with Poggy the Man.

The Five Four x Poggy the Man collection

The United Arrows & Sons Creative Director teamed with Five Four co-founder Andres Izquieta and Five Four Creative Director Mark McNairy to design the spring 2017 collection. The collection is comprised of embroidered jackets, denim, sweaters, t-shirts and collared shirts that introduce a Japanese aesthetic to the modern, American man.

“Having traveled to Japan for over 10 years and always admiring the culture and style,” said Izquieta, “Japanese style has always been at the forefront of fashion, setting the trend for almost every market and we wanted to bring this influence into our next designer collection. For us, there was no one better to do this with than Poggy.”

Poggy has collaborated with many brands in the past including sneaker brand Filling Pieces and headwear brand ’47. The Creative Director hosted a feature at Liberty Fairs in 2015 and 2016 aptly named Poggy’s World that housed collaborations with brands such as Greats, Readymade, DRx Romanelli, and even Nick Wooster.

“I want to start a movement in fashion by combining different elements to make pieces that transcend trends,” said Poggy. “As an arbiter of Japanese fashion each piece is created with barrier breaking design in mind, this collection fuses Japanese fashion to help create new trends for Five Four’s ever-growing customer base.”

Five Four began partnering with popular menswear designers in 2015 with the launch of a collaboration collection with Mark McNairy. The contemporary men’s fashion subscription company hired Mark McNairy as Head Designer months later, and in 2016, they launched Mark McNairy New Republic, an affordable men’s footwear line. Robert Geller also worked with Five Four as a guest designer in 2016.

The Five Four x Poggy the Man collection is available through the Five Four monthly membership program and is available for purchase in the e-commerce store. All pieces retail for under $100.
