The Brazilian custom t-shirt printing company has just been purchased by Spreadshirt. The German custom apparel and accessories company, which has a strong presence in the United States, now aims to expand into South America. Its development on the continent will begin through Vitrinepix.

"Internationalization and the opening up of new markets to our buyers and sellers is one of our central themes for 2014,” said Philip Rooke, CEO of Spreadshirt. "Brazil is the fifth largest country in the world with approximately 100 million Internet users and a third of the population shopping for online apparel and accessories, making this a logical step in our development. With this acquisition, we will afford our partners and sellers with the means of marketing their ideas to an international audience with just a few clicks."

In Europe, Spreadshirt generates 47% of its sales from custom products, as compared with 14% in the United States. Now present in 17 markets, the company makes 10% of its sales through mobile technology. In 2013, its turnover reached 72 million euros with 3.3 million products delivered.
