Dua Lipa and Donatella Versace team up to design a summer collection

Designer Donatella Versace and singer Dua Lipa have joined forces to create a women's collection for the Italian brand, which will be presented at a fashion show during the Cannes Film Festival.

The new collection is called "La Vacanza" (The Vacation) and is part of the Versace High Summer line. This collaboration isn't Dua Lipa's first venture into the world of fashion design, as she previously created a collection for Pepe Jeans in 2021.

The co-designed collection will be presented in a fashion show on May 23 in Cannes, France, coinciding with the film festival, and will be available both in stores and on the Italian firm's website on the same day.

"We can't wait to show what we've created!" Donatella Versace wrote enthusiastically on Instagram alongside a photo of the two of them. The singer reposted the message, which has already received thousands of likes.

The "Levitating" singer's connection with the Italian fashion house goes back even further. During the presentation of Versace's Spring-Summer 2022 collection, Dua Lipa walked the runway as a model, showcasing two of the season's looks.

Although she is the face of one of Yves Saint Laurent's perfumes, the Albanian-British singer was one of the hosts of the Met Gala on Monday, which paid tribute to the late German designer Karl Lagerfeld, creative director of Chanel and his eponymous brand.

During the gala, Dua Lipa wore a retro wedding dress by the French fashion house, consisting of a bodice and skirt.

Dua Lipa's choice of outfit positioned her among the most elegant women of the night and, according to the social media software company Brandwatch, it generated the most social media comments related to the hosts, which included Spanish actress Penelope Cruz, Swiss tennis player Roger Federer, and British actress Michaela Coel.
