French luxury label Dior is travelling to Ibiza. For the first time, the Spanish island is is home to a Dior pop-up store, which opened its doors on 3 June. The space will remain there until 30 September.

Located in Marina Ibiza, in front of the Old Town, the space will showcase the womenswear creations of Maria Grazia Chiuri as well as men’s fashion from Kim Jones and the firm’s beachwear collection. The menswear designs created by the designer who replaced Kris Van Assche were presented in Spain in April for the first time, coinciding with the opening of a space dedicated to the men’s collection within the label’s Madrid boutique on José Ortega y Gasset. The Ibiza store will also present a curated selection of accessories, including some of the brand’s classics as well as pieces from the ‘Dioriviera’ summer capsule collection.

The LVMH Group-owned brand is continuing its expansion plan in Spain, where it currently trades from three stores in Madrid, Barcelona and Puerto Banús, Marbella. It also has four concessions in El Corte Inglés branches. Mirroring the success of its Mykonos pop-up store, Dior will take advantage of Ibiza’s tourist influx to get closer to wealthy Spanish and international shoppers. Loewe, also part of LVMH Group’s luxury portfolio, can attest to the benefits of having a presence in the area. This season will see the label take residence on the Spanish island in the historic area of Dalt Vila for the third consecutive time.

Dior manages its Spanish business through a subsidiary called Christian Dior Española, established in 1982. Christian Dior Couture, its parent company, was integrated into the LVMH portfolio in April 2017 for 13 billion euros, and its corporate structure was subsequently reviewed by the group. The luxury conglomerate reported revenue growth of 11% to 12.53 billion euros in the first quarter of the year.
