David Gandy launches signature fashion athleisure line

Published
Sep 21, 2021

The name gives it away: David Gandy Wellwear. The former British supermodel and now entrepreneur is to launch a signature fashion and lifestyle brand next month with an athleisure difference.

David Gandy Wellwear

It’s a collection based on science and technology, specifically around the benefits of wearing soft, comfortable clothing that “fuses fashion, function and feeling”.

The Portugal-produced line includes tactile fabrics such as Pima cotton, lyocell and modal, chosen for their next-to-skin softness combined with natural functionality, such as body temperature regulation and moisture wicking.

Anti-odour and anti-bacterial properties reduce the need to wash clothes after every wear, increasing longevity of the garment and also having a positive wider environmental impact, It also includes the use of aloe vera plant extract, claiming wound-healing, anti-inflammatory and moisturising properties.

The launch collection comprises 20 pieces across nine categories, including T-shirts, sweat polos, sweatshirts, joggers, "the ultimate hoodie", outerwear, sleepwear, loungewear and accessories. It comes in a muted palette of monochrome, navy, grey and khaki.

It will launch direct to consumer on the davidgandywellwear webstore and will be positioned as “accessibly priced attainable luxury”, ranging from £28 for a T-shirt to that £80 hoodie.

“Clothing can have a big impact on our confidence, so I wanted to create a range that helps people feel relaxed and secure – one that allows people to feel as comfortable as they do in their own skin,” said Gandy.

“Clothing shouldn’t just make you look good - it should make you feel good too," he added.
