Costume National’s creative directors Yasutoshi Ezumi and Koji Udo are stepping down from their roles following the spring/summer 2020 season. The brand’s Italian and Japanese design teams will create both the upcoming men’s and women’s autumn/ winter 2020/2021 collections.

Ezumi and Udo’s retirement from the brand is due to the expiration of their contract period, Costume National said, as reported by Fashion Snap.

Costume National’s autumn/ winter 2020-2021 collection created by the brand’s design teams will feature Italian artist Alberto Burri and looks inspired by his expressive paintings.

Yasutoshi Ezumi was creative director of Costume National’s womenswear segment and Koji Udo was in charge of creative direction for menswear. The Japanese designers took over the reigns of the business’ global collections from spring/ summer 2018.

Brothers Ennio Capasa and Carlo Capasa launched Costume National in 1986 in Milan. The Capasa brothers decided to leave the brand in 2016, its 30th anniversary, and Japanese business CN Japan, which was already responsible for the brand’s retail business in Japan, took over its entire retail business.
