Sarah Andelman, co-founder of the cult Parisian concept store with her mother Colette Roussaux, has opened a ‘Souvenir Shop’ in the French capital to mark the release of the documentary film ‘Colette mon amour’ at the MK2 Beaubourg cinema in Paris.

After staging various events, from film screenings to pop-up stores, in New York and London, Sarah Andelman has teamed up with the Maison Kitsuné Tuileries store at 2 rue du 29 Juillet in Paris. “A place cherished by the founder of Colette, located close to where the store was,” that is now the venue of a pop-up store selling limited-edition articles from February 24 to March 2.

The ‘Colette mon amour’ range includes handbags and eyeglasses (20 units per item) by Off-White, handbags by Baggu, Rubik cubes and stationery by Darcel, uniquely flavoured cookies in the Café Kitsuné part of the store, and a line of t-shirts, sweatshirts and handbags designed in collaboration with Maison Kitsuné. In addition, a series of artworks by artists close to the store like Futura 2000, including a fanzine by Kark Hab and a Snoopy figurine by Leblon-Delienne.

Each screening of the ‘Colette mon amour’ documentary at the MK2 Beaubourg cinema will include panel discussions featuring key figures in the history of the Parisian concept store, from Pedro Winter (of Ed Banger Records) to Michael Dupouy (of All Gone books), Lucien Pagès (of PR agency Lucien Pagès), Guillaume Salmon (formerly in charge of PR for Colette) and David Fischer (founder of Highsnobiety magazine).

The documentary will be screened at 6.30 pm every day from February 26 to March 1, telling the story of the Colette store, which opened in 1997 and closed down after two decades, on July 12 2017. It also focuses on the celebrities “who have fashioned Colette,” with interviews with designers and artists like Virgil Abloh, Kanye West and Pharrell Williams.
