Previously its Chief Operating Officer, Jonathan Zrihen has been appointed CEO of the cosmetics group. He succeeds Philip Shearer, who has left the role in order to move closer to the USA and his children, the group has stated.
After joining Clarins in 2007, Philip Shearer (formerly with Estée Lauder) contributed to the group’s expansion by positioning it among the main players in the cosmetics and fragrances industry. He also led the company through its Stock Exchange de-listing.
Jonathan Zrihen joined the Clarins Group in April 1996 as area manager. He quickly took on international operations roles, first in Singapore as President of the Asia region, then as CEO of the Canadian subsidiary in 2004, and of the US subsidiary in 2007. He was then appointed President for the Americas region.
On 1st February he was appointed COO of the Clarins group, which features in its portfolio, besides the eponymous brand, also Azzaro, Mugler and My Blender.
