Candiani Denim opens design centre in Los Angeles

True Religion, AG Jeans, Paige Denim, Hudson Jeans, Citizen of Humanity, etc.. Since the early 2000s, California has become a spawning ground for denim brands. Their common denominator is having an upmarket positioning. By setting up a research and development centre for the first time outside Italy, Candiani Denim intends to offer its know-how directly to the denim industry players.

The centre's objective is to train the major US jeans companies in denim fabric expertise and treatments.

The Candiani research and design centre is located in Los Angeles on premises extending over 1,200 m², close to the Staples Center, home to the Los Angeles Lakers, and especially to the Fashion Institute of Design & Merchandising. The venue's laboratories and showrooms are open to the students. It is an opportunity for Candiani Denim to establish links with the next generation of designers.

The Candiani Denim company was created in 1938 near Milan, and claims to be a denim fabric supplier to most premium brands. Candiani exports its fabrics in some thirty countries, and reported a revenue of €115 million in 2014.
