Canada Goose Artist in Residence programme moves to London

Published
Jun 25, 2020

Canada Goose has been running an Artist In Residence programme globally to celebrate its store reopenings and the latest is in London with a launch on June 26.

Canada Goose's Regent Street store

The programme started in Paris with local artist Daco, then moved to Milan with illustrator, art director and local designer Mila, before shifting to London. Here, British-Indian sculptural artist and Central Saint Martins fine art graduate Saroj Patel has taken over the window of the Regent Street flagship with a launch on Friday as the store emerges from lockdown. However, the work actually began last weekend with a live art installation in the window.

The company has been partnering with local artists in six cities across Europe, North America and Mainland China with the artists creating in-store art installations on the theme Live in The Open

This is a nod to Canada Goose’s purpose “to inspire and enable all people to connect to nature, self-discovery and community”.

The campaign sees its store windows becoming an exhibition space, “giving each artist a blank canvas to showcase their artwork”. The company said each artist was “carefully chosen exemplifying the local zeitgeist and their ability to create pieces that explore how the brand’s ethos connects to the journey the local community have experienced this past year”.

And the In Residence’ programme will be an annual live experience designed to support local creators, giving them a global platform to inspire. Canada Goose has a long history supporting public art and artists.
