Calendar unveiled for Paris Fashion Week Men's

Published
Dec 14, 2019

Between Tuesday 14 and Sunday 19 January, Paris Fashion Week Men's will see 54 fashion houses show their latest menswear collections over the course of six days, a slightly lighter calendar than in June, when 60 brands took to the French capital's runways. One notable absence this season will be Celine, which has decided to show its menswear alongside its womenswear in a coed show mirroring the strategy seen at Saint-Laurent.

Casablanca

As is generally the case, the first day will host a more laid-back programme than the other days of the week, kicking off with a show from Chinese brand Sankuanz, followed by newcomers including California's Rhuigi Villasenor and his label Rhude, an L.A.-born blend of couture and streetwear. Franco-Moroccan brand Charaf Tajer is next in the lineup, with a runway show scheduled for 5.00 PM – a spectacle in the spirit of its latest collection, presented off calendar in June, and the "Grand Café Casablanca."

Three other brands will be making their first appearance on the Parisian catwalk, including Botter – led by current Nina Ricci creative directors Rushemy Botter and Lisi Herrebrugh – set to show on Thursday 16 January, the same day as fellow newcomer Rochas Homme, while British label Craig Green will make its Parisian debut on Sunday 19, at 11.30 AM.

Y-Project

Other highlights include the return of two familiar faces at Paris Fashion Weeks. Having chosen the lavender fields of Southern France as the location for its 10th anniversary show in June, Jacquemus will be bringing its menswear show to Paris on Saturday 18 January.

Likewise, Givenchy creative director Clare Waight Keller decided to show her men's collection at Florence's Pitti Uomo last season, but will make her return to Paris on Thursday 16.

Paris runway regulars, luxury giants and big name brands will all be putting in an appearance as well, such as Louis Vuitton (Thursday 16), Dior Men (Friday 17), Hermès (Saturday 18), Valentino (Wednesday 15), Berluti (Friday 17) and Balmain (Friday 17). Y-Project (Wednesday 15), Off-White (Wednesday 15), Hed Mayner (Wednesday 15), Vêtements (Friday 17) and GmbH (Friday 17) will also be participating with much-anticipated shows.

Davi

Paris Fashion Week Men's will draw to a close with an intense schedule on 19 January. Lanvin will start proceedings, followed by Palomo Spain, Ludovic de Saint-Sernin, Paul Smith and Alyx, the label from American designer Matthew Williams, famous for his work with U.S. rappers and celebrities.

Finally, the official show calendar also announces the arrival of Japanese label Doublet and its designer, 2018 LVMH Prize winner Masayuki Ino, as well as Shanghai-based Ziggy Chen and the namesake brand he founded in 2012, Seoul's We11Done – led by Dami Kwon and Jessica Jung – and Chinese sportswear label Li-Ning, founded in 1990.

Among the European brands hitting Paris this season, it's worth keeping an eye on Davi, led by former Boglioli creative director Davide Marello; suit brand Oteyza; Bulgarian-born, London-based designer Kiko Kostadinov; and former Cerruti creative director Aldo Maria Camillo, who has been leading his France-based namesake label since 2016.
