CFDA signs partnership with China's Suntchi

The Council of Fashion Designers of America on Wednesday announced an exclusive 5-year partnership with Suntchi (Shanghai) Brand & Technology Co., Ltd.


 
The partnership creates the first gateway connecting China’s business network and marketing platform with US fashion designers and brands. In addition, the CFDA’s 500-plus membership will now have unrestricted access to the Chinese market.
 
“Partnering with Suntchi aligns with our mission to strengthen the impact of American fashion in the global economy,” says Steven Kolb, President & CEO of the CFDA. “Suntchi is well established and uniquely positioned to offer tremendous opportunity and exposure for our members to their extensive network of business partners in China.”

Suntchi is a full-service management company focused on the fashion and entertainment industry. Founder and CEO Paul Fang believes that the partnership with the CFDA will create “massive opportunity for American designers.”
 
Fang said, “"By connecting two powerhouse continents, with fashion brand management, this strategic partnership marks the beginning of a new era for American fashion companies desiring to expand into China and vice versa. We take great pride in branding and marketing new and established designers, identifying cultural trends and increasing market share. Thousands of fashion & lifestyle companies can now connect to create new consumer scenarios and consumption patterns, combining entertainment, art, and fashion to prompt China's consumer adoption.”
 
The CFDA also recently announced the participants of the 2017 Americans in Paris showcase during Paris Fashion Week in March. The participating designers include 2016 CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund winners Brock Collections, Adam Selman, and Krewe, and competition finalists Area, Chloe Gosselin, Ji Oh, Morgan Lane, Newbark, and Rochambeau.
