Boticca continues international expansion with launch of French site
Oct 1, 2013
London-based accessories market place site Boticca has launched in France, marking its first ever non-English language site and an important step in the company’s expansion.
Bottica recently acquired French site Atelier de la Mode, which was created in 2008 and had garnered more than 100,000 customers in the country, bringing the Boticca’s total database to 500,000 clients.
"France was the logical geography for us to begin our internationalization strategy," says Kiyan Foroughi, Boticca CEO and co-founder. "It's our number one non-English speaking market, fourth globally in terms of sales after the US, UK and Australia. The French market is full of potential and we look forward to making the most of it."
Currently, the site does 50% of sales in Europe, 30% from North America and 20% from Asia Pacific and the Middle East. 55% of all transactions are intercontinental, with the designer on one continent and customer on another.
In Boticca’s curated market place are over 330 creative independent designers and emerging brands, offering more than 10,000 products from 40 countries around the world on every continent.
