Asics reported 52% year-on-year growth in wholesale channels across EMEA for the period to June and its revenue in wholesale channels increased year-on-year in Germany (43%), France (77%), the UK (50%), Italy (116%) and Iberia (111%).

Asics EMEA also saw ongoing e-tail growth, with a rise of 45% year-on-year.

The region’s CEO, Carsten Unbehaun, said that Covid continues to present challenges around the world but the firm is “seeing very positive results in our region, we are managing our business carefully to ensure we can deliver and provide the best experience in the future”.

Unbehaun added that the firm is seeing “unprecedented demand” for its products across EMEA and its fast growth there has been helped by product innovation and a rise in customer numbers. The company’s profitable growth is coming from all parts of the business and all channels, “demonstrating that we have positive momentum in the region”.

The innovation referred to includes the launch of the Metaspeed Sky Shoe and Metspeed Edge Shoe in June “to help cadence-style runners extend their stride length and improve their overall efficiency”. And the company has been helped by elite athletes wearing these shoes, Also as far as elite athletes are concerned, the company recently extended its partnership with Novak Djokovic.
