Adidas debuts app in India

Published
Jul 6, 2016

Adidas, the German sportswear giant, plans to launch a shopping app via Adidas Group India this December, in a bid to drive customer engagement and boost online sales.

Adidas India readies app launch - Adidas

The customer engagement initiative will focus on content and loyalty programs, reported Live Mint, which Adidas hopes will boost online sales.

Strengthening online presence sees Adidas take on omnichannel strategies, which allows customers to buy to products in store and on their mobile phones or computers. It's about constant engagement.

“Our engagement with consumers does not end in incremental sales,” Adidas Group India’s senior eCommerce director Abhishek Lal told local media. “Shopping is just a small fraction. We are planning an app and rewards program to increase engagement with the brand.”

Separate apps will be rolled out for Adidas and its subsidiary Reebok India.
