The Munich Fabric Start, which took place January 24 to 26, has drawn a positive conclusion to its recent Spring/Summer 2024 edition with a positive atmosphere around the MOC (Munich Order Centre) and on the Zenith site, both in the main exhibition and in the Keyhouse and Bluezone areas. Around 14,000 trade visitors from 58 countries, including the DACH region, the Benelux countries, Scandinavia, the United Kingdom and Turkey, attended the event.

Around 14.000 visitors attended the January event - MUNICH FABRIC START

As the first fabric trade fair of the season in the international trade fair calendar before Paris and Milan, this Munich event has once again proved its relevance for the entire industry, according to the organisers.

On a total exhibition area of around 42,500 square metres, divided into eight zones, more than 1,300 collections from around 900 international suppliers were presented. The Bluezone was fully booked with 90 brands. Exhibitors included denim, fashion and sportswear brands such as Adidas, Camel Active, More & More, Selected, Street One, Strellson, The North Face and United Colours of Benetton

Buyers, product managers and designers came from companies such as About You, Adidas, Akris, Alberto, Allude, Best Secret, Bestseller, Betty Barclay, Bogner, Boss, Brax, C&A, Cambio, Comma, Dorothee Schumacher, Gucci, Hallhuber, Drykorn, Escada, Lagerfeld, Luisa Cerano, Mac, Esprit, Etienne Aigner, Frauenschuh, Lala Berlin, Lodenfrey, Gerry Weber, Holy Fashion Group, Marc Aurel, Marc Cain, Marc O'Polo, Oui, P&C as well as Riani, S. Oliver, Seidensticker, Sportalm, Vogue and Windsor.

"Munich Fabric Start and Bluezone were very well attended and we had two and three days respectively of intense discussions, key business decisions, inspiration and innovation. Our conference programme has never been richer, with over 90 high-level speakers. Interest in new developments, especially in the areas of digitalisation and sustainability, was already extremely high, and is now growing much more profoundly," says Sebastian Klinder, managing director of Munich Fabric Start.

"We had hoped for this, and it happened: despite the current difficult economic climate, the atmosphere was full of curiosity and optimism. Business processes are being challenged, but companies are coming up with solutions. Whether through new product innovations, fascinating new designs or more efficient and transparent processes. As a trade fair, it is our job to create a platform where we bring the right people together in one place," adds partner and creative director Frank Junker.

For the summer trade fair editions, Munich Fabric Start Exhibitions GmbH has adjusted the dates: the MFS will take place for the first time in the summer season from July, Tuesday 18 to Thursday 20. The venue remains unchanged: the event will still take place in the Munich MOC. Bluezone, Keyhouse and the new event "The Source" will continue to take place over two days (July 18 and 19) at the Zenith venue.

From summer 2023 onwards, View will continue to be held twice a year, but with a new concept: first the reVIEW Autumn/Winter 24/25 on September 13 and 14 after the MFS in July, and then the preVIEW Spring/Summer 25 on November 28 and 29, before the main show in January 2024.
