Pentland to ‘help 100 million people live positive lives’ in new sustainability strategy

Published

It’s almost a decade away, but 2032 marks a couple of major milestones for UK fashion group Pentland Brands.

Pentland Brands

Coinciding with its centenary, the business, which owns the Speedo, Berghaus, Ellesse, Endura, Canterbury and Mitre brands, has launched ‘100-1-0’, its sustainability strategy to be reached by 2032.

With plans to “deliver on its commitment to support both people and planet, through various sustainability initiatives and charitable actions", 100-1-0 comprises three major targets.

These centre on an ambitious programme “to help 100 million consumers live positive, active, sustainable lifestyles; improve the lives of one million people in its communities; and to become a net zero business”.

Its portfolio of brands will aim to increase the drive to “create more sustainable products and services, including those which support emotional and physical wellbeing. They will also accelerate their focus on bringing communities together and supporting causes that matter to their consumers”.

Other commitments include Pentland Brands having 100% transparency across its supply chain. It will also give 1% of profits to charity every year and, over the next 10 years, its brands will donate half a million products to those most in need.

As part of its commitment to reach net zero between 2024 and 2032, initiatives include planting 50 million trees “to restore healthy forests, increase biodiversity and reduce extreme poverty”.

Sara Brennan, Positive Business Director, Pentland Brands said: “Our world has changed, and we need to accelerate our actions. We know there’s much more work to be done, but everyone within the Pentland Brands family is passionate about helping to create a world that’s better, fairer and greener.  Our teams are already working together on the initiatives that will help us to achieve our ambitious 2032 targets.”
