Stefano Pilati to pilot exhibition at Pitti Uomo in June

Following on from 'The Ephemeral Museum of Fashion' exhibition realised by Olivier Saillard, which attracted more than 112,000 visitors to Florence in June this year, it's time for another event, and of the same grand scale, to be announced for 2018. Next June, coinciding with Pitti Uomo 94, Palazzo Pitti's fashion and costume museum will welcome 'Evolution - Involution - Revolution, thirty years of men's fashion', as interpreted by Stefano Pilati.

The former director of Saint Laurent and Ermenegildo Zegna will showcase "his personal reflections on contemporary fashion."

The exhibition "is based on first-hand experience, passing through flashbacks, impressions, collaborations and rejections. Its aim is to immerse the visitor in the multifaceted reality of men's fashion of the last three decades, depicting its dialectical relationship with a constantly evolving social context," said a press release, describing the event.

The exhibition will run until October and is the third of its kind following 'Karl Lagerfeld - Visions of Fashion' and 'The Ephemeral Museum of Fashion'. The trio are part of a three-year fashion cycle, promoted by the Florence Centre for Italian Fashion, in partnership with Uffizi, and with Pitti Immagine via its Pitti Discovery Foundation.

The event will also take place thanks to the financial support of the Italian government and the ministry of economic development, as well as the international promotion agency ICE.
